I collected the blood pressure of immediate neighbors and found the following results - Mrs. Saroj has 140/90 , Mr. Nair has 130/80. The optimum is 120 over 80. So both Mrs. Saroj and Mr. Nair have higher than normal BP so they need to consciously improve their lifestyle to bring it to optimum BP which is 120/80. It is not that alarming to start medication yet but steps should be taken to improve it. They could so by moderating their salt intake, eat more vegetables and fruits, keep a healthy weight by losing excess weight, if any, be active and get enough exercise daily, and avoid alcohol.
