Answer:

Frog,an amphibious animal lives both on land and in water. It performs both pulmonary and cutaneous respirations. One third of total oxygen is taken up by frog through skin.

Frog exhibits the following for cutaneous respiration :

1. Skin is moist and glandular (which secrets mucous onto the surface of the skin).

2. Mucous layer retains water and reduces the evaporation of water and is useful for absorption of more water.

3. Aestivation(Summer sleep) : When it is hot and dry, frogs make burrows deep into the soil and live in them where it is cool and moist.

4. Hibernation(Winter sleep) : Frogs undergo long sleep during winter and respire through skin only.
