 ON RESEARCHING I GOT THAT

What is it?

HFCs are a group of man-made chemicals containing the elements carbon, hydrogen and fluorine. They are colourless, odourless and unreactive gases.

What is it used for?

HFCs are mainly used in refrigeration and air conditioning equipment and as propellants in industrial aerosols (replacing the formerly used CFCs and HCFCs which have been shown to damage the ozone layer in the upper atmosphere). HFCs are also used for foam blowing, solvent cleaning and in fire extinguishers.

Where does it come from?

The main sources of HFCs are from the manufacture of, leakage from and end of life disposal of refrigeration and air conditioning equipment and aerosols. HFCs are entirely man-made - there are no natural sources.

How might it affect the environment?

Releases of HFCs do not cause damage at a local level. They do however have a global environmental effect, as greenhouse gases contributing to global warming. Although their "global warming potential" is high (100-3000 times that of carbon dioxide), the relatively small amounts involved mean that they play a small role compared to other greenhouse gases. HFCs can persist in the environment for up to hundreds of years because of their high stability.

Hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) Its impact on global warming

We very well that Carbon dioxide is society's largest contribution to global warming, but there are some lesser-known gasses that also affect the atmosphere & environment equally.  There are lots of such small effects those are adverse for planet earth‘s safety. Methane, nitrous oxide, chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) and pollutions are among in such long list.  These seem too small but they have huge diverse effect on planet’s geographical health. HFCs are leads this list.

HFCs are result of mankind’s modern life style & luxury .Mainly they are generated from Refrigerator .Hydrogen and Fluorine are its main contains. They are in form of colorless, odorless and unreactive gases.

HFCs are comes from air conditioning equipment & propellants in industrial aerosols also which have been shown to damage the ozone layer in the upper atmosphere. HFCs are also used for foam blowing, solvent cleaning & in fire extinguishers also.  To avoid such things we should always use high rating & quality.  HFCs are very crucial link between protecting environment & ozone layer. People’s demand for comfortable life with the help of refrigerators & Air Conditioners is bridging the earth at door of mass distraction .Ozone layer depletion is one of result of this. As small particles generated by HFCs are highly responsible for this .

Some other supporting elements like CFCs (Chloro Fluro Carbon), Green House Gases & Carbon Di Oxide CO2 also equally responsible for the damage. Due to rising level of these HFCs the Depletion layer is increasing year by year. Ozone layer is one of important layer that protect us from dangerous Ultra Violet Rays (UV) rays &   from extreme heat Ozone layer Preventing UV rays to reaching us & it observe itself at up above .It helps to filter all these harmful rays .But with the constant uses of HFCs there lot damage to this layer which acts as safety shield to us, now going in to depletion mode. Which dragging the world in whole new trouble which immediate threat to all living kinds on earth.  Which can cause disease like skin cancer & eye problems, further it damages the immune system.  So beat this heat we should put hold on HFCs & curb its uses in daily life & work on reduce its impacts in phased manner.

That’s why more than half of countries of the world sit & talked around the round table many times & passed many rules, laws & agreements ,which indicates the curbing the uses of HFCs & still many agreements, support & talks between all nations going on about control of emissions of HFCs like Montreal & Kyoto Protocols. This major commitment towards minimisation of HFCs.  Once we are able find out the substitute of HFCs without compromising the safety of mother earth there will again be a greener safer earth to live in with peace .More trees, fresh air & pure Water will next most valued commodities on earth which is everyone’s birth right. So reducing HFC may help us in a great way achieve better tomorrow.
