Answer: Indigofera tinctoria is also called as the indigo plant in simple terms. It is the species of bean family that was long back used as a dye. The places it grows in India are West Bengal and parts of south India, Bangladesh, Tamil Nadu is the leading state at present the state.

The demand of synthetic blue dyes has risen to the peak, therefore the indigo dye has its value faded but the craziness of fashion of indigo dye in European country, the indigo dye has made a comeback.
