The Thar desert is located between india and pakistan and is a part of Rajasthan. It is also called as the Great Indian Desert.

The people living here exhibit the following characteristics :

1. They rear cattle like goat,cow and camels.

2. Due to the lack of vegetation most of them keep moving from one place to another.

3. They grow crops which require less water like bajara, jowar, and mustard seeds.

4.Due to intense heat , they wear dhoti- kurta and pagadi. women wear ghaghra choli.

5.Some of them are also craftsmen and make art like pottery , handcrafts etc.

The sand hills of the Thar Desert always move and go up against new shapes. Situated in northwestern India and eastern Pakistan, the desert is limited on the south by a salt swamp known as the Rann of Kutch, and on the west by the Indus River plain . Around 800 kilometers in length and around 490 kilometers wide, the desert's landscape is basically moving sandhills with dispersed developments of bush and shake outcroppings . Just around 12 to 25 centimeters of rain fall on the desert every year, and temperatures ascend as high as 52 degrees Celsius . A significant part of the populace is peaceful, raising sheep for their fleece .
