                                              Rally For Rivers

All the rivers in developing countries are facing a threat of annihilation through pollution. Owing to the alarmingly increasing population, unplanned industrialization, and urbanization the rivers are drying up. India is no exception.

Rivers are the lifeline for all life forms. All the civilizations in our world were born, grew, and developed on the banks of rivers. They are the veins of the earth through which life flows. Rivers not only make our planet habitable, they also make it exceedingly beautiful. Rivers are invaluably useful for man, animals, and plants. They are the source of potable water, irrigation for agriculture, power generation, transport, food, recreation and leisure, etc.

Since man’s life depends so much upon rivers, it is his bounden duty to keep them in perfect health and pollution free. However, owing to rapid industrialization and urbanization, rivers have been highly polluted. They have become huge dumping reservoirs. We must ensure there is no pollution of rivers by dumping any waste such as, sewage, effluents, and other toxic substances. The people and the government must ensure installation of effluents treatment plants at industrial, garbage, and sewage units.

By being the proactive stewards of this rare life-supporting element we can preserve and conserve it. Clean, pure, sparkling rivers with abundant aquatic life reflect the cleanliness of the people who live on its banks. Their cleanliness is the indicator of the health level of the people inhabiting their banks. We must preserve our rivers because our own preservation is directly linked to their conservation.

In conclusion it can be said Rally For Rivers is one such campaign as aims at spreading rivers preservation awareness among people. This campaign has been sensitized and launched by Isha Foundation under the aegis of Sadhguru. The massive campaign includes Sadhguru himself driving from Kanyakumari to Himalayas, spreading awareness among people. Millions of people welcomed this initiative and responded enthusiastically in joining the rally. This is a wonderful initiative to preserve and conserve our rivers. Let’s hope we, the people will follow up this initiative with tangible actions and preserve our rivers that give us life.

Rally for Rivers is an across the nation campaigning program with the end goal to resuscitate the rivers in our nation.

The campaign has been foreseen by Sadhguru of the Isha Foundation.

Studies have uncovered that by 2030, India will have just half of the water that is required for our survival and that 25% of India is changing into a desert due to an absence of water and water assets.

Contrasted with 1947, there is under 75% of water today in the nation.

The vast majority of the rivers have vanished and many go away for the most time in the year.

The Rally for River is an extensive arrangement for reviving the rivers and to turn around their decay.
