Modern artificial satellite are equipped with transponders , high resolution cameras , radiometer, solar panels and necessary fuel.

Satellite revolve in a specific path called orbit.

These satellites receive signals from the earth station and send back the observation or information taken by their various equipments , back to the earth station in a proper format.

A satellite called Rohini was launched by India on July 18 , 1980 with the help of SLV-3 rocket.

India became the 7th nation in the space club with the launch of Rohini
