Wastewater treatment refers to the process of removing contaminant from sewage which is then reused and return to the water cycle.

Wastewater treatment is always carried out in wastewater treatment plant, the plant is also known as sewage treatment plant.

However, the two major wastewater treatment plants include:

  • Chemical treatment plant
  • Biological treatment plant

Biological waste treatment plant involves the use of biological matter and bacteria to remove contaminant while chemical treat plant involves the use of chemical reaction to break down waste matter.
