DROUGHT in my Grandparents village

My village in Bihar is often affected by drought during the days of my grand father's teenager years. Coming from a farmer's family, the family was devastated. As the paddy grows in a water filled fields, paddy crops failed due to water shortage. The land were barren. Vegetables were not enough so my grandfather had to eat maize pudding with salt. Landless people who often worked as labourers in the fields were without food and were dying due to starvation.
