This information was collected from people doing the cleaning jobs in my area, their education background, why they do this job and the challenges which they face.

I discovered that most of these people have basic education. That is most of them dropped out of school at elementary level. Some did not even step in school. They say, they couldn't find any other job according to their qualifications and so decided to settle for this.

They also chose to do cleaning jobs because they were too desperate for a job. They needed something to do badly but it was not available so they umped onto the immediate one available.

Among the challenges faced is low pay. These people believe they are underpaid according to how much the work and how much effort they put in. Actually most of them believe they are exploited.

The other issue is dealing with citizens who are not responsible. They litter garbage everywhere, defecate and urinate everywhere, this, they say makes them do double work because they have to clean again.

Another challenge faced is that they are not respected at their places of work. A cleaning job is like the lowest job and as such these workers are also considered as the lowest kind of individuals.
