Information on the different types of farming in India is as follow:

Dry Farming:

  • This is practiced in area of scanty rainfall.
  • The crops like jowar and bajra is grown under this farming

Humid Framing:

  • This is followed in high rainfull region of 100 cm to 200 cm.
  • The crops like rice, sugarcane and juice are cultivated

Irrigation Farming:

  • This is practised in area where framing is done using the water supply from river, reservoirs and tanks.
  • The crops like sugarcane, tobacco, rice, wheat, cotton are grown in this farming

Shifting agriculture:

  • This involves the practice of growing a crop in one area, then due to decline of crop growth in that area, the same crop is grown in another fresh area.
  • The root crops, rice, maize, millets are grown using this method.

Plantation Farming:

  • Growing a single cash crop in plantation or estates on a large scale.
  • This is used in growing tea and coffee plantation.
