plants are divided in 5 categories.
These are
Thallophyta
Bryophyta
Pteridophyta
Gymnosperms
Angiosperms
The above list comprises of cryptogams n phanerogams..The first three are cryptogams as they have spores for reproduction n the last two for eg ferns n horsetailsbear seeds.
The above division of 5 categories is done on basis of the development of plants..
Thallophyta shows minimal differentiation in plant organs n is mostly aquatic n are commonly called algae .for eg spirogyra.
Bryophyta are known as amphibians of plant kingdom. They grow along the water bodies n show some more differentiation .for eg mosses.
Pteridophyta have fully differentiated plant organs n have tissues for conducting food n water. for eg ferns n horsetails.
gymnosperms bear naked seeds on female cones.for eg pinus , deodar
Angiosperms refer to the plants that have flowers for reproduction n plant embryos are inside seeds with structure called cotyledons..basically referring to all the plants around us. for eg oranges, roses, apple, sunflower etc
These are all the classification of plant kingdom...
