Question :-

Find the Total Surface Area (TSA) and the Lateral Surface Area (LSA) of a Cuboid which is 8 m Long, 6 m Broad and 3.5 High *

Solution :-

Total Surface Area of the Cuboid = \bold {2(lb + bh + hl) \:sq.\:units}

\begin {aligned} Total \:Surface \:Area & = 2 (8 \times 6 + 6 \times 3.5 + 8 \times 3.5) \:m^2\\\\& = 2 (48 + 21 + 28)\: m^2\\\\& = 2 (97)\:m^2\\\\& = \bold {194 m^2} \end {aligned}

Lateral Surface Area of the Cuboid = \bold {[\: 2 (l + b) \times h\: ] \: sq. \:units}

\begin {aligned} Lateral\: Surface \: Area & = 2 (8 + 6) \times 3.5\: m^2\\\\& \Rightarrow 2 (14) \times 3.5\: m^2\\\\& \Rightarrow 28 \times 3.5\: m^2 = \bold {98\: m^2} \end {aligned}
