Collect some objects like cork, all pin, rubber, piece of wood, piece of plastic at your home. Take water, oil, milk, sugar solution in separate beakers. Place each object one by one, on the surface of liquids taken into the beakers and see whether the object sinks or floats in that liquid. Record your observations and based on them, compare the densities of the object and liquid.

Objects floats or sink: an experiment
The objects that I have collected where pin, paper, wooden piece, and plastic cover.
- Paper, wood, plastic floats on water but the pin sink in the water.
- All the objects including the pin floated on a saturated sugar solution.
- All objects except pin floated on the oil surface.
- Similarly except pin all objects floated on milk.
- The possible explanation for the observation can be given on the basis of differences in density.
- Objects with greater density than the solution sinks in it, while objects with lesser density floats on the surface.
