• Basic Services: In any country several services such as trade, commerce,education facilities, health facilities, police stations, insurance companies, Banks etc are required for developing the country. The government has taken provision for the development of these services.

• Development of means of transport and means of communication: The development of agriculture and industry leads to the development of certain other services like transport,trade, storage facilities etc.
• More income means more services - As income levels rise certain people start demanding for more services like Eating Out, Shopping centers, private hospitals etc.
• New services: With modernization and globalization some new services based on information and communication have become important and essential.

These are the reasons why Tertiary sector is becoming important and essential in the last decades.
