Aryabhata or Aryabhata I was the first of the major mathematician-astronomers from the classical age of Indian mathematics and Indian astronomy. His works include the Āryabhaṭīya and the Arya-siddhanta. For his explicit mention of the relativity of motion, he also qualifies as a major early physicist.

The two great Indian Mathematicians are
1. BRAHMAGUPTA
2. ARYABHATA
- Introduction of zero (0) to mathematics, which stood for “nothing”, was the biggest contribution of Brahmagupta.
- He also explained how to find the cube and cube-root of an integer and gave rules facilitating the computation of squares and square roots.
- Srinivasa Ramanujan was one of India’s greatest mathematical geniuses. He made substantial contributions to Hardy-Ramanujan Littlewood circle method in number theory and worked on elliptic functions, continued fractions, partial sums, products of hypergeometric series and infinite series.
