If you consider the VIBGYOR pattern (as in rainbow), then the wavelength of red is maximum followed by that of Green and Blue. As frequency is inversely proportional to wavelength, therefore if frequency is increasing then wavelength is decreasing.

Collect the information regarding wavelength and corresponding frequencies of three primary colours red blue and green

  • Low-frequency radiation cannot be seen. Most people start to sense a dull red at about 400 THz (1 THz = 1012 Hz) with a sufficiently powerful source. The seen hue gradually shifts from red to orange to yellow to green to blue to violet as the frequency is raised.
  • Red, green, and blue are the three additive primary colours, which means that by additively combining these three colours in varied ratios, nearly all other colours may be created. When the three primary colours are combined in equal amounts, white is created.
  • Violet is the colour of visible light with the greatest frequency and most energy. Red light, which has the lowest frequency of all visible light, contains the least energy.
  • colorimetry. Red, green, and blue are the three additive primary colours, which means that by additively combining these three colours in varied ratios, nearly all other colours may be created. When the three primary colours are combined in equal amounts, white is created.
