Kidney failure, also known as end-stage kidney disease, occurs when the kidneys are no longer able to adequately remove waste from your blood and control the level of fluid in the body. Kidney failure can happen suddenly or gradually. People with kidney failure need dialysis or a transplant to stay alive.

If you have kidney disease, it does not mean that you will develop kidney failure. One in ten Australians aged 18 and over (approximately 1.7 million people) has at least one sign of chronic kidney disease, and over 20,000 receive dialysis or a kidney transplant for kidney failure.

You can lose up to 90 per cent of kidney function before feeling sick. In many cases, the signs of disease aren’t noticed until the kidneys are close to failure.

Kidneys are lower back - facing organs. There is one kidney on both side of our spine.

Failure of kidney happens when our kidneys can't able to filter waste materials from our blood.  When our kidneys can't do their normal work our body become overloaded with toxins. This may occur kidney failure.

Some features of kidney failure are -

  • Reduce amount of urine.
  • Unexplained shortness of breath.
  • Pain in chest.
  • Excessive drowsiness.

Failure of kidney may occur by an unexpected loss of blood flow to kidneys. When our body can not remove urine, toxins become increase and overload the kidneys, then it causes the kidney failure.

There are several treatments of kidney failure.Dialysis is one of them. Dialysis does not cure  failure of kidney, but it will extend our life if we go to regular treatment. kidney transplant is also an one kind of treatment to prevent failure of kidney .
