TISSUE CULTURE :-

This is an artificial method of vegetative propagation which is undertaken in specialised laboratories . It is based on principle that a new plant can grow from a single cell . A piece of stem , leaf or roots (tissue) is placed under specific condition in a semi-solid solution containing nutrients and plant hormones in a closed container . Plant hormones are substances that make the cell of the tissue divide and form a mass of cells . Roots and shoots then developed from this mass of cells and form New plantlets . Through tissue culture , many plants that can be regenerated from a single piece of tissue .
