Explanation:
— A colloid is a mixture that has particles ranging between 1 and 1000 nanometers in diameter, yet are still able to remain evenly distributed throughout the solution. These are also known as colloidal dispersions because the substances remain dispersed and do not settle to the bottom of the container

Answer:
1) What is colloidal solutions:-
- The colloidal state of matter was first introduced by Thomas Graham 1861. He divided substances into two classes, depending on the ability of diffusion.
- Colloids are the substances which cannot diffuse through colloidal membrane or parchment membrane e.g., starch, gelatine etc. If the particles of the sugar are dissolved a homogeneous solution is obtained.
- On the other hand if a little clay or sand is mixed with water, a heterogeneous mixture is obtained.
- The particles in the collide state possess the state between that of a particle in a true solution and particle in suspension.
- A dispersed phase and dispersion medium together forms a colloidal solution.
