  • A colloidal sol of sulphur can be obtained by passing hydrogen sulphide into solution of sulphur dioxide in water or through a solution of an oxidising agent. In Haber's process, hydrogen is obtained by reacting methane with steam in presence of NiO as catalyst. The process is known as steam reforming.
