Everything in this universe is made up of atoms. Atoms combine to form molecules. Therefore colloids are made up of molecules. Even though colloids can be separated, the separated particles are made up of atoms and molecules.

Characteristics of Colloids:-

  • A substance which is made from two different particles.
  • They can be separated through chemical methods.
  • They can not be seen through the naked eye.
  • Colloid can be identified by the Tyndall effect, passing light through a mixture.
  • Eg: Cream.
