Colonel Adye becomes a martyr while discharging his duty.Explain CLASS 12 INVISIBLE MAN
Answers
Colonel Adye was the Chief of Police in Burdock. He was a dutiful officer who worked conscientiously and according to the demands of the situation. He responded promptly and fearlessly to Dr. Kemp’s call to arrest the invisible man.
Adye was courageous and decisive. He knew capturing Griffin would not be an easy task, so he had the hounds arranged. He did not pay any heed to the risk involved in the task. His move to overpower Griffin was full of risk, yet he dared it. He was simple, trusting and humane. He was against the idea of injuring Griffin by spreading powdered glass on the roads. He had confidence in his ability to capture Griffin single-handedly, and was shot when he did so. Though Griffin let him go warning him to stay away from him, yet Colonel Adye dared to assault him to capture him. Griffin, desperate as he was, he shot him with the gun seized from the Colonel. Thus he became martyr doing his duty fearlessly.
