Colour of sky is determined by the colour which is most scattered. Colour of sky changes noon to evening and size of sun also appears to change​

Explanation:

When the sun rises in the east,the light from the sun has to travel the longest distance to reach the observer on earth and so the blue light of the visible light having a short wavelength is scattered the most and most of it is lost till it reaches the observer . Red light of the longest wavelength (referring to the electro magnetic RADIATION) is scattered the least as compared to the other colors of the visible light as in the atmosphere and so only red is visible and the sky appears red.

After sunrise the sun travels upwards and now the blue light is scattered the most and so the sky appears blue.

Now by afternoon the sun is just overhead the observer and so the light from the sun has to travel the shortest distance to reach the observer and any color of the visible light is scattered the least . Thus larger part of the sky around noon appears white.

During sunset again the the light from the sun has to travel the longest distance and the above phenomenon takes place and the sky again changes its color
