Ammonium chloride is acidic salt because NH4Cl is formed from the reaction ofNH3, a weak base, and HCl, a strong acid. Hence, pouring it on a red litmus paper will show no changes. But, it will turn a bluelitmus paper to red due to it being slight acidic ranging from 4.6 to 6.
