combustion is of........type
Answers
Combustion can be divided into the following three types:
When large amount of heat and light are produced in very short span of time, it is called rapid combustion.) For example, combustion of LPG.
When a material suddenly bursts into flames, without the application of any apparent cause (heat), it is called spontaneous combustion. For example, white phosphorus burns in air at room temperature without application of heat.
When a material bursts by sudden release of heat, light and sound accompanied by the liberation of a large amount of gas in the reaction, it is called explosion. Explosion can also take place if pressure is applied.
Explanation:
Four types of combustion:-
Slow combustion
Combustion takes place slowly due to insufficient supply of oxygen
e.g burning of wood
Rapid Combustion
Combustion that take place rapidly
e.g burning of LPG
Spontaneous Combustion
Combustion that takes place spontaneously
e.g White phosphorus burns spontaneously while kept in open atmosphere
Explosive Combustion
Combustion which produces explosive sound
e.g burning of crackers
