Answer :-

The major and most significant difference between Eukaryotic cells and Prokaryotic cells is that,

A clearly defined "Nucleus" is absent in a Prokaryotic cell whereas, an Eukaryotic cell contains a clearly defined nucleus.

Some other differences between Eukaryotic cells and Prokaryotic cells are as follows :-

  • Membrane bound cell organelles are absent in Prokaryotic cells whereas, they are present in Eukaryotic cells.

  • Prokaryotic Cells consist of only 70s type Ribosomes whereas, Eukaryotic Cells consist of both 70s and 80s type Ribosomes.

  • Centrioles are absent in Prokaryotic cells whereas, they are present in Eukaryotic cells.

  • Histone protein is absent in Prokaryotic cells whereas, it is present in Eukaryotic cells.

  • Flagella in Prokaryotic cells is made up of Flagillin Protien whereas, in Eukaryotic cells, it is made up of Tubulin Protien.
