The correct answer is given below:

Explanation:

  • (i)
  1. Blood connects all organs of the body through blood vessels which includes the arteries, veins and capillaries. It is necessary for the the supply of nutrients and oxygen and removal of metabolic wastes and carbon dioxide from the cells to ensure that they undergo proper metabolism.
  2. Nervous system conduct (send and receive) impulses through neurons in between the brain, spinal cord and rest of the body. This is necessary for maintaining proper body co-ordination.
  • (ii)
  1. Heart beat is caused by the contraction and relaxation of the chambers of the heart (auricles and ventricles) during pumping of blood.
  2. Pulse rate can be defined as the measure of the number of times the heart has undergone contraction and relaxation in one minute. It can be measure on the radial artery of the wrist.
  • (iii)
  1. Breathing rate can be defined as the number of breaths, that is, inhalation and exhalation, taken and given by a person in one minute.
