Self-incompatibility is a common name for any genetic mechanisms in the angiosperms that prevent the self-fertilization process and encourage allogamy and outcross.
There are several methods available to overcome the drawback. It includes bud pollination, mixed pollination, stub pollination, test tube pollination, deferred pollination, intra-ovarian pollination and in vitro pollination are some of the methods use to overcome the drawbacks.
