Kannaki's apotheosis in "The book of Vanci" is she is worshipped as the goddess Pattini an epitome of chastity.

EXPLANATION:

In the ‘book of Vanci’ we find the narration of the mythological tale of Kannaki and her husband Kovalan. Kannaki was an exquisitely beautiful woman married to the handsome Kovalan. The young couple were very happy till Kovalan met the gorgeous dancer Madhavi. He fell in love with her and spent his entire fortune on her. Being bankrupt he returned to Kannaki.

As a good wife Kannaki forgave him and gave him her valuable pair of anklets filled with rubies to sell them and start a new business. Unfortunately Kovalan was mistaken for the thief who had robbed the queen of a similar anklet filled with pearls. Kovalan was beheaded. This angered Kannaki so much that with the strength of her chastity she set the entire city of Madurai on fire. As the apotheosis, the Goddess of the City asked her to take back her curse and she was transformed to the Goddess Pattini, the epitome of chastity.
