Condition of the country :

Due to the poor administration of the British , the Indians were economically shattered . There were debts among farmers . We have been looted by the British . They used to extract raw materials from the country and then they used to sell the finished goods in the markets . They used to collect revenue from our people and they used it for their own good .

Growth of Agriculture

↪ The First 30 years after the Independence of India , our agricultural sector improved alot . The Government took several measures to improve the agriculture and improve the condition of the farmers .

Growth of reforms in several aspects

↪ The education of our country improved . Indians realized that women should be educated so that they can contribute towards the growth of the country . There was growth in the development of science , economy and in every aspect . There was consequently an increase in the employment of the country and establishment of industries which boosted the economy .

The Issue of Partition

After the partition of the country in 1947 , there was creation of Pakistan and Bangladesh and they were a single nation separated by several kilometres .

↪ These lead to several battles over the conflict that the administration of the two countries could not be done properly .

↪ After the war of 1971 , Bangladesh became independent .

The Origin of the Non Aligned Movement

↪ The countries which got independent wanted to enjoy their recently achieved freedom and they did not want to get involved in any other Wars.

↪ The political tension of the countries in the World was high due to the Cold War .

↪ Hence some countries remained aloof from any of the higher blocs and they actively participated in cooperation and peace among nations . This was called the Non Aligned Movement .

↪ Non Aligned Movement was an international policy in which a sovereign nation does not get involved with any of the power blocs of the World and promote cooperation , harmony and peace .

Formation of Panchsheel

↪ India and China signed a treaty based on five principles called the Panchsheel .

↪ They promised to maintain mutual equality , mutual respect and mutual non interference in each other's matters .

↪ This was almost a bond of friendship between the nations .

Formation of Election Commission and other democratic changes .

➡ Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was made the First Prime Minister of the nation and Rajendra Prasad was made the First President .

➡ The Election Commission was formed to maintain free and fair elections.

➡ The President was to be elected indirectly .
