1) Formation of topsoil: it is the process of formation of the topmost layer of the soil which is essential for plant growth. This formation process takes thousands of years to form a few inches of a layer of the soil.

2) Treatment of seeds: treatment of seeds is the process of disinfecting the seeds from any kind of pathogens or diseases or infections. It ensures that the seed is free from any kind of disease and it is healthy.

3) Preparation of field for sowing seeds and looking after new-born plants: the field is prepared before sowing the seeds which include loosening of the topmost layer of the soil so that the seeds get to the perfect depth so that they can germinate properly and form new plants. Looking after newborn plants is very essential as these plants are more prone to you getting attacked by pests and diseases and if so happens that can cause the failure of the crop.

4) Preservation of cells/tissues: cells or tissues are preserved by the process of cryopreservation, which involves freezing the cells of tissues and stopping them from getting damaged or being dead. The cryopreserved cells or tissues can be later on used in the life of the individual.
