Early man was a food gatherer and a hunter. He did not know how to produce his own food so he chased animals  and found their eating habits which makes it easy for him to hunt the animals. His natural food was wild berries , fruits etc.Early man learnt the art of cultivation when by mistake a seed fell on the ground and he got to know that seed grow into plants. From then on he produced his own food with no trouble at all.

Answer:-

Human beings began life on earth as forest dwellers. In the early stages, they became food gatherers and depended on the forest for all their needs:- food, clothing and shelter.
