according to Newton's 3rd law of motion , action and reaction are of equal magnitude and directed in opposite direction.
e.g if action force Fab
and reaction force Fba
then,
Fab + Fba = 0
example :- books on the table is the best example of this , if sum of action and reaction forces don't be zero then, books will be moving downward or upward.
