this is wrong statement because newton 3rd law of motion state that action is equal and opp. to the reaction is always considered as interaction between two bodies and not one body

RJMONE: But sum of action and reaction is zero na because there is action and opposite same reaction..I.e.., A+(-A)=0
peetakatniss4ever: no that's what i thought at first but read the question carefully... action and reaction forces act on 2 different bodies and not on only 1 body as mentioned in the question. hence the statement itself is wrong. hope it helps u to understand the matter

The statement is itself wrong

As we know the third law of Newton states that there is an equal and opposite reaction to every action

And an action can not be zero so the reaction will also not be zero

Hence, it is not possible that the sum of action and reaction on a body is zero
