Answer:

  • 'Engine Teouble' was written by R . K . Narayan. It is a story full of humorous incidents. The narrator won a road engine but it was not the sort of prize one could carry home at short notice. When he became desperate to take the road engine to a field own by his friend, he was offered temple's elephant by a local priest. He also engaged fifty coolies to push the engine from behind and hired Joseph for steering the engine. The temple elephant tied to the engine with stout rope and fifty men was ready for pushing it from behind. The engine began to move. When it reached the road the elephant dragged it one way, Koseph became failure to control the steering and fifty men pushed it just where they like. Next the engine boarded the opposite Compound wall and broke it. It was a marvelous sight. So everyone screamed with joy. But the elephant disliked the behavior of the crowd, trumped loudly and kicked down a further length of the wall. They fifty men escaped in panic.
