Comment on the vivid phases of Ali's transition.

Ali's phases of transition can be termed as pre-elopement phase of his daughter and post-elopement phase of his daughter. His daughter's elopement could be called as the climax of his life. The pre-elopement phase is diametrically opposite to post-elopement phase. Before his daughter eloped with a soldier, Ali was a pleasure-seeking being. He was an accomplished hunter, and loved opium. But the sudden and sad incident of his daughter's elopement changed him completely. He became a very serious and sensitive man. He gave up hunting, and his heart became sensitive to omnipresent love and the pain involved in it. His only purpose of life was now to receive a letter from his daughter. He died waiting for it.
