My question is why glucose is converted into starch in plants? I mean I know glucose is soluble and starch is insoluble. So that's why, if glucose is in a plant cell it might swell up. And if starch is there instead, the cell doesn't swell up. But why in case of starch, the cell doesn't swell up? Thanks in advance.
