In the poem After Blenheim , the poet has shown striking comparison between the words of Old Kasper and his grandchildren . Old Kasper praised the war between the English and French by calling it a famous or a great victory . While his grandchildren Wilhelmine and Peterkin insisted in calling war a wicked thing . The poem was full of irony and it gave a message that though there is a huge loss of life and property in the war , the common people have to praise it and have to accept the fact that it was a great victory!...hope it helps
