The commercial unit of energy is kilowatt.
The SI unit of energy is the Joule, defined as the energy expended by moving a force of 1 Newton through a distance of 1 metre.
The SI unit of power is the watt, defined as 1 joule per second,
so 1kw = 1000 watts = 1000 joules per second
1kw hour then is 1000 watts for 3600 seconds =3.6 x 10^6 joules per hour.
hope it helps!
