Common salt, washing soda and baking soda are very commonly used in our everyday life. Common salt

is an essential ingredient of our diet. Washing soda, as the name indicates, is used in laundry. Baking soda is

an ingredient of baking powder used in making cakes, bread etc. now, answer the following questions:

a) Some patients are suggested to uses less quantity of salt. Do you know when and why?

b) In countries where it snows heavily, roads are cleared by sprinkling salt. Do you know why?

c) While making cake at home, a lady added baking soda in place of baking powder? What do you think will

Answer:

a. exessive salt makes blood more dilute....increases cholesterol

b.salt helps in fast melting of ice

c. baking soda helps the cake turn spongy

because it causes the microbes present in the ingredients to swell means the the structure of microbes increase and the cake turn fluffy
