Companion cells are unique to A) Angiosperms.

Companion cells are a part of the sieve tube elements found in angiosperms. Companion cells are the only nucleated cells in the sieve tube elements and are tasked with the responsibility of controlling and coordinating the enucleated components through sieve pits.

Together the companion cells and the ‘sieve tube’ elements are the main food conduction body in angiosperms. “Sieve cells” and “Albuminous cells” are structures with identical function, found in pteridophytes.
