1. Hot deserts are found around the latitudes of 30 degrees north and south in every continent.
While cold deserts are located above 30 degrees north and below 30 degrees south in dry areas.
2. The days average at about 38 degrees and the nights at about 7 degrees. The average rainfall is less than 25 cm in hot deserts.
While in cold deserts, Summer days vary from 21 to 26 degrees and winter b/w -2 to 4 degrees. The average rainfall is also less than 25 cm.
3. In hot deserts, plants have thick stems and leaves to store water and their roots are underground to collect water.
For example Cactus.
While in cold deserts plants don't grow more than a meter tall. For example sagebrush
4. In hot deserts, animals like reptiles have thick skin to preserve water.
While in cold deserts animals burrow to escape the cold. For example Foxes, coyotes, jack, rabbits and pocket mice.
5. In hot deserts, soils are salty because minerals are not washed away.
While in cold deserts, most precipitation falls as a snow, it mostly rains in winter. The soil is also salty.

Solution :-
Hot Deserts -
The hot deserts of the world are located between 15° and 30° North or South of the Equator. With extreme temperature present in both day and night, hot deserts are extremely dry. However, these deserts are utterly hot during the daytime but extremely cold at night. The usual temperature reach 43° - 49° Celsius during daytime while it goes down towards - 18° Celsius at night. The annual rainfall does not usually exceed 250 millimeters. Hot deserts can be found in almost all the continents. Sahara, and Kalahari Deserts in Africa, Arabian Desert in Middle East, Great Victorian Desert in Australia, Gobi Desert in Asia and Great Basin Desert in North America are some of the largest and amongst the most known hot deserts.
Cold Deserts -
Temperate or Cold Deserts are found in temperate regions at higher latitudes of the world. These dry environments are caused by either remoteness from the coast, which results in low atmospheric humidity from a lack of onshore winds, or the presence of high mountains separating the desert from the coast. Cold Deserts are almost lifeless regions with snowing winters during most of the time of year. Out of all the deserts in the world, the Antarctic and the Arctic Deserts are two of the largest in land area covering more than 27,000,000 sq km together.
