Find the least common denominator or LCM of the two denominators:

LCM of 4 and 20 is 20

For the 1st fraction, since 4 × 5 = 20,

\frac{3}{4} = \frac{ 3 \times 5}{4 \times 5 } = \frac{15}{20}

Likewise, for the 2nd fraction, since 20 × 1 = 20,

\frac{18}{20} = \frac{18 \times 1}{20 \times 1} = \frac{18}{20}

Since the denominators are now the same, the fraction with the bigger numerator is the greater fraction

\frac{15}{20} < \frac{18}{20} or \: \frac{3}{4} < \frac{18}{20}

hope it helps you
