Given:

body mass of Ram = 60kg

To Find:

mass and weight of ram on earth and moon

Solution:

the body mass of Ram remains the same on the moon and earth since it is independent of acceleration due to gravity.

Thus body mass of ram on the moon (m)= 60kg

        body mass of ram on earth (m)= 60kg

Now, the weight of Ram

we know that,

weight = mg = mass × acceleration due to gravity

For calculation of the weight of Ram on earth

m = 60kg and g= 9.8m/s²

thus on putting the values in the above equation

weight = 60 × 9.8 = 588N

Similarly for calculation of the weight of Ram on the moon

m = 60kg and g= 1.63m/s²(acceleration due to gravity on moon)

thus on putting the values in the above equation

weight = 60 × 1.63 = 97.8N

Thus, the weight of ram on the moon = 97.8N

        the weight of ram on earth = 588N
