We have,

Body mass of the ram (m) = 60 kg

∴ The ram's mass on the moon =  60 kg (∵ mass remains constant throughout the universe)

Similarly, the ram's mass on Earth =  60 kg

Now, we know that weight is actually a measure of force, thus it is different from the concept of mass

This means, Weight (W) = Force (F)

⇒ W = mass (m) × acceleration due to gravity (a) = ma

∴ Ram's weight on Earth = ma  = 40kg × 9.8m/s^2  = 392 kg.m/s^2 = 392 N (∵ W = F)

Now, the ram's weight on Moon = \frac{1}{6} (Ram's weight on Earth) = \frac{1}{6} × 392 N = 65.33 N

Ans) Mass of the ram on Earth = 60 kg

Mass of the ram on the moon = 60 kg

Weight of the ram on Earth = 392 N

Weight of the ram on the moon = 65.33 N
