The frog was cunning, greedy, proud and insensitive. This nature is revealed when he sells the nightingale's songs for money and makes her sing in the cold weather. On the other hand the nightingale is a sweet and simple soul who falls in the vicious trap set by the frog. Though in the beginning she was proud of the originality of her song, her self doubt and gullibility leads her to a tragic and untimely death
