The comparison and contrast between asteroids, comets, and meteoroids are:-

  • Asteroids- Asteroids are a huge chunk of mass made up of stone and mud. It is a huge structure or it can be said that it is a huge ball of mud and dirt. It does not support life and has no atmosphere. It is way larger than a meteoroid. Asteroids move or orbit around the ball of energy Sun.
  • Comets- Comets are way smaller in size than both Asteroids and Meteoroids.  Comets are small balls of dust and dirt that glow up when it travels towards the Sun. These can be glowing up when they collide with the Sun. The size of a relatively small city or town can be compared to a comet.
  • Meteoroids- Meteoroids are smaller in size than asteroids but can be larger than comets. Meteoroids can be said to be a part that gets detached from the big ball of an asteroid. When meteoroids can in contact with the earth, they burn up in the atmosphere by themselves.
