Western Coastal Plains

#It lies between the western ghats and The Arabian sea. 
#It is a narrow plain, which stretches from Gujarat to Kerala with an average width 50 to 80 km.
#The plain is drained by rivers like Narmada and Tapi forming estuaries.
#The northern part of this coast is called  Konkan, the central stretch is called Kannada plain and the southern stretch is referred to as Malabar coast.

Eastern Coastal Plains

# It lies between the Eastern Ghats and the Bay of Bengal.
#They are wide and level plains with an average width of 80 to 100 km.
#This plain is drained by rivers like Krishna, Kaveri, Godavari and Mahanadi forming deltas.
#The northern part of this plain is referred to as Northern Circar and the southern part of this plain is called Coromandel coast.
