compare and contrast compounds and mixture
Answers
May be I will give you BIOLOGICA analogy with humans:
You are a compound with different functional units, like head, handa, brain, heart etc. This is when you are alone.
When you have a family, that is a mixture of individual compound , the family becomes a mixture of several compounds.
In Chemistry: a compound can be a molecule of a chemical, such as water ( H2O).
A mixture is when you have bunch of compound together: like the sodapop, it has water, sugar, coloring matters, flavouring matters, CO2 , etc.
Answer:
Explanation:
Are its substances joined together? For a mixture the substances are not joined together. But for a compound atoms of its elements are chemically joined together.
What are its properties? The substances in a mixture keep there own properties. A compound has different properties to those of its elements.
Is it easy to separate? Mixture is easy to separate. You need to do chemical reactions to split a compound into its elements.
How much of each substance does it contain? You can change the amount of substances in mixtures. But in compounds the relative amount of each substance cannot change.
